FAQs

1. I already have a screen protector on my device. Do I have to remove it?

The phone and tablet screen protectors are made of tempered glass, while the laptop screen protectors are made of film with a privacy filter. They are made to protect your device as much as they are developed to block out blue light without compromising image quality, so we recommend that you remove any prior screen protector to enjoy the maximum benefits of Ocushield.

2. Can I use Ocushield protectors and blue light glasses together?

Yes, this will provide added protection. Blue light lens coatings on prescription glasses made at your opticians only limit up to 20% of blue light. This is a good starting point, although with Ocushield you can limit up to 35%. This works well since some of us do not wear our glasses all the time. Ocushield is also beneficial for devices that are used by multiple people such as iPads, protecting the whole family's eyes.

3. Is the Ocushield screen protector permanently attached to the laptop screen?

No. It is removable. Note – reapplying after removal means the finish is not as flush as when first applied.

4. Can you install the protector on my device?

We do not offer installation services, but Ocushield screen protectors are made and prepared to be easy to do yourself. Each package comes with all the tools you need plus handy instructions for fool-proof installation. We also have helpful videos if you’re the visual type, and you can also send us a message anytime if you have further questions.

5. How long will an Ocushield protector last?

With everyone using their devices everyday extensively – Ocushield screen protectors usually have a lifespan of 1-2 years before they need replacing due to wear and tear.

6. How much blue light is blocked by Ocushield products?

Ocushield glass screen protectors for smartphones and tablets block up to 90% of blue light between wavelengths 380nm to 420nm and up to 40% blue light from 420 to 500nm. Ocushield screen filters for laptops and monitors block up to 95% of blue light between wavelengths 380nm to 420nm and up to 50% blue light from 420 to 500nm. This is a large amount to reduce the spike in blue light wavelengths causing eye strain and sleep disturbance.

We have developed Ocushield products with user experience at the forefront so image clarity is not affected while protecting you from harmful blue light. Removing more than 50% of blue light (420-500nm) from a device screen would mean the contrast of the image would be very poor and you would not enjoy the product. 7. Do you have screen protectors for other phones or devices?

All our available screen protectors are on our website. We are working on making our anti blue light screen protectors available for more devices, so watch out for more announcements on our Instagram and Facebook pages!
